Steve is a “Distinguished Professor” and the Creative enterprise endowed professor at UNM’s Anderson School of Management.  He is most proud of the Management of Technology (MoT), Technology Entrepreneurship, and Project Management student’s success.  Their success not only shows up in winning many competitions (SBI, BUZ Plans, best paper, etc.) but all students have an opportunity for paid internships for the last 20 years. Moreover, he has mentored many students that have gone on to be CEO, become leaders in the New Mexico Economy and indeed internationally. In assisting the student success. He serves as the founding professor and PI of the Project Management effort at UNM Anderson School. He serves as the Co-director of the Technology Entrepreneurship Program and is the concentration Co-Director for Management of Technology (MOT) program and MS ETM program at UNM. He holds many business service awards including the lifetime achievement award for commercialization of Micro and Nano technology firms from MANCEF, UNM Anderson’s service award and recognized by the state of New Mexico as one of named a New Mexico technology commercialization “All Stars” by the New Mexico Economic Development Department, Office of Science and Technology.  He has written over 200 archival academic and practitioner articles, books and book chapters. He has been recognized as one of top seven researchers worldwide in Technology and Innovation Management in the world and one of the top 5 researchers in Technology Entrepreneurship over the past 15 years. He is a proud member of the top ten ranked MoT program. He earned his Ph.D. from RPI.

He was a manager at a division of a fortune 500 firm, a project and program manager and General Manager of a small and Medium enterprise.  He is also a serial entrepreneur and has helped to attract tens of millions of dollars to firms where he was either a founder, president and or vice president. He has been involved mainly in the emerging technology commercialization space professionally. More specifically he initially focused on Industry 4.0, R&D, emerging technologies, semiconductor materials, Pharmaceuticals, Ceramics, and Pheromones.  During the last twenty years he has focused his efforts on technology project management and commercialization of emerging technologies like Micro, Nano, biotechnologies, Additive Manufacturing and IoT. He is the president of Janus Ventures Inc. a consulting firm.
